On Wednesday, November 21 at 6pm the Seattle LGBT Community Center along with the Ingersoll Gender Center will be hosting a hanksgiving potluck. Often times the holiday season can be tough for LGBT people who may feel uncomfortable or unwelcome at family functions. They may not be out to family members or have a family who is not supportive of them. This event will allow community members to come together with the support and understanding of other LGBTQA people and have a wonderful holiday meal. Inaddition to the potluck, a raffle will be held that night where items and gift certificates from local businesses will be awarded to the winners. The funds raised will be used to support the Center’s programs such as QArts, The Faygele benMiriam Lending Library, and the Resource and Referral line as well as future events like Queerfest. * Bring whatever food you would like to contribute!!! Also non alcoholic beverages are welcome:)

In 2006, Ingersoll joined the Seattle LGBT Center and put on a bigger and better even than it had ever before. It was an event that said: We’re here, were, proud and confident, with a lot to celebrate and a lot to offer and the whole community is invited. That was the first year that we branded our winter celebration “SnowBall”. This year we are changing the formula a bit and making SnowBall dress-up dance event/ball… a Snow Ball. | ||
The Seattle LGBT Community Center mission is to provide opportunities and tools for LGBT individuals, organizations and communities that ensure their voices can be heard, included and affirmed; to be a place to engage, organize and effect change.
